FILM COUNCIL ALLOCATE LOTTERY MONEY

THE FILM Council have announced the final selection of films awarded Lottery money under the Council’s interim financing structure.
The total amount of Lottery money awarded to franchise films and short films is £805,037.
For Franchise films The Film Consortium were awarded a grant of £34,000 for ‘Seven Against The West’, and Pathe Pictures were awarded £57,000 for ‘The Mighty Walzer’.
Shorts film projects have been awarded a total of £714,037 for eleven projects. The largest amount, £400,000, was awarded to The Illuminated Film Company for ‘Wargame’. The total cost of this project was £1,130,000. Ancient Mariner Productions were awarded £100,000 for ‘The City’ - the total cost of this project was £229,700.
The Film Council’s three new funds, The Development Fund, The New Cinema Fund and the Premiere Fund were launched on October 1.
