Panasonic appoint Top Teks as a P2 dealership
Panasonic has announced the appointment of Top Teks as a P2 dealer for the UK market.
With the revolution in workflow that P2 offers finding the right dealership with the expertise and understanding of the format was essential.
Ian Lowe, Head of Broadcast Sales, said: “Top Teks have always shown an innate understanding of broadcast hardware and have strived to give the best service. P2 is now well placed to make a major impact on the broadcast marketplace and we feel confident that the staff at Top Teks are both knowledgeable and motivated. I have every faith that this close partnership will grow over the coming years as tapeless technology moves into the main broadcast arena alongside our other products.”
Mike Thomas of Top Teks said: “After seeing early examples at NAB 2004, I was convinced that solid state was the way to go, especially in the area of news acquisition. Now that the P2 range has a field store for rapid downloading of media in the field and the major non-linear solutions work seamlessly with it, I believe Panasonic has a winning technology giving owner operators and production companies real benefits that they can pass onto their clients.”
Enhanced demonstration facilities are available for Panasonics revolutionary P2 format at Top Teks new headquarters at Bridge House, Park Lane, Harefield. They have placed into their demonstration stock a state of the art AJ-SPX900 camcorder capable of recording DV, DVCPRO and DVCPRO50 video formats to P2 solid state cards and their staff are all fully trained to be able to help with enquiries and production issues.
Panasonic announced several new P2 products and advances in P2 card capacity at IBC.
Top Teks have already supplied the UK MOD news teams, a complete P2 Camera and Editing System consisting of the 4 x AJSPX 800 camcorders, with AJSPC 060 P2 stores and AJPCD 10 P2 drives for ingesting the P2 footage into their NLE systems.
