VideoPropulsion to show DVB - QAM Multifunction Card at IBC

VideoPropulsion (VP), one of the leaders in digital video data movement, will exhibit another member of its distinctive, low cost, high performance Torrent family of video pumps – the QDπ QAM/DVB combo at IBC (stand 7.740).
The QDπ was designed as a standard 64 bit 66MHz PCI interface card which can be shipped with up to three RF QAM channels as well as up to three DVB-ASI input or output ports. Two or three adjacent 38.8 Mbit/sec, 6MHz 256QAM (Quadrature Amplitude
Modulator) channels are implemented utilizing a single frequency agile, digital upconverter with one F connector. As many as three dynamically configurable DVB-ASI transmit or receive ports with standard BNC or optional mini-SMB connectors are also on the board. The QDπ can be delivered with one or two 8MHz channel bandwidth QAMs for international deployments.
Used in conjunction with the VPiTV Digital TV Tools, single or multiple program MPEG-2 transport streams (SPTS or MPTS) can be received on one or more DVB input ports, spliced with advertising or other content, multiplexed into multi-program transport streams (MPTS), and transmitted on one or more QAM and/or DVB output ports. Common configurations are typically available off the shelf. Custom configurations can usually be delivered in 4-6 weeks ARO.
A fully configured QDπ, with three QAM channels and three DVB ports, can demux 155Mbit/sec on each DVB port while multiplexing and transmitting twelve 19.4Mbit/sec HDTV streams on three 6MHz or two 8MHz CATV channels.
