VORTEX EXHIBIT NEW PRODUCTS AT VIDEOFORUM

UK-BASED Vortex Communications, manufacturers and suppliers of video and audio equipment to broadcasters worldwide, have announced that they will exhibit a number of new products at the VideoForum 2001.
The new VX-8500D 8 x 8 slimline matrix router which can switch Serial Digital video with embedded audio, AES-EBU digital audio or both. The bandwidth of the established VX-8500 series small analogue rooters has been increased to 350MHz which provides sufficient bandwidth for both conventional baseband video and XGA+ computer signals. The VX-8000HB is available for up to 256 inputs x 128 outputs at 350 MHz.
CAT-5 TV Distribution system ‘The Sourcerer’ can send near-broadcast quality video and audio over many hundreds of metres of twisted pair cable. The new 600 series provides selection from 32 sources with an unlimited number of users whilst larger systems are available based on the VX-8000 series central routing hub.
At the other end of the scale, the low-cost Sourcerer Series-6 is designed for smaller installations where up to six users can view and control up to eight sources.
Vortex’s range of DigiBox Serial Digital Interfaces have also been expanded to include SDI to analogue and analogue SDI converters, ARC Aspect Ratio Conversion, SDI switching, SDI test pattern generation, SDI distribution, audio embedding, de-embedding and conversion between SDI and DV.
Vortex’s SDI linear keyer and other systems will also be on show. (CD)
