VI[Z]RT SIGN MAJOR DEAL WITH SVT

VI[Z]RT, providers of fully integrated broadcast graphics, have announced that a major deal has been signed by Sveriges Television (SVT), Sweden’s public broadcasting service, for the entire range of vi[z]rt systems.
The systems are to upgrade the output of the station’s news, financial information, sports, promos, continuity, live production and special events.
To create the new look and feel across the entire network, including their future digital media solutions, SVT are installing multiple vi[z], vi[z] modelling, vi[z] maps, vi[z] content pilot and vi[z] virtual studio.
Peter Amling, SVT IT Strategies Manager of the News Department, said: “Initially we were just looking to refresh the news output in our main location in Stockholm, but once we saw the capabilities of the
vi[z]rt solutions it became clear that the entire network, including our regional stations, and the continuity department, would benefit from the purchase of the vi[z]rt systems.”
The solution includes the integration with different studio systems including Tektronix Profile video server and Compass continuity system, as well as staff training and support.
Vi[z]rt are one of the main sponsors of the forthcoming Broadcast Graphics & Virtual Studios Conference to be held at the Mandarin Oriental, London on the January 29 and 30, 2001. The conference is organised by Access Conference International. (CD)
