Whirlwind joins EtherSound community

Whirlwind has acquired an EtherSound license and will offer EtherSound-enabled versions of its digital-audio-over-Ethernet products such as E-Snake.

EtherSound is an elegant, simple and open digital audio network standard with extremely low latency that is fully compliant with the IEEE's 802.3 Ethernet specification. "Whirlwind has been a consistent innovator in all areas of audio connectivity for years," said EtherSound Business Development Manager Jimmy Kawalek. "They share our vision of a networked digital audio domain that is open to all manufacturers and end users. We're very happy to welcome them aboard and look forward to the EtherSound-enabled E Snake along with other Whirlwind products."
Other recent licensees include console manufacturers Allen & Heath and DiGiCo, systems manufacturer QSC, and power amplifier manufacturer Bittner Audio.
