Vizrt to supply graphics system for Russian news channel

Vizrt has announced that it has received an order worth several hundred thousand US dollars in order to equip the new channel Russia Today.
The contract is the largest Vizrt has received in Russia so far, with Russia Today adding to Vizrt's customers in the country.
The new station will be built from scratch and is set to launch towards the end of this year. Vizrt will deliver the main graphic solution and thus be responsible for the look of the channel. Components will include a complete suite of real time graphics and content management solutions, such as Viz|Engine, Viz|Artist, Viz|Content Pilot and Viz|Maps.
Russia Today will be the first English-speaking, 24-hour channel to broadcast from Russia and it will be receivable worldwide via satellite. The nation-owned station shall provide news and comments from a Russian perspective as well as giving inside views of Russian life.
Bjarne Berg, Vizrt President and CEO, commented: "We are very happy to strengthen our hold in Russia, and we are very optimistic that this important deal will be a break through for us in the CIS region. These countries are very important markets, and Russia Today is a very prestigious project. It will enable us to draw attention and demonstrate the capabilities of our products. Russia Today is going to set the standard for news television in the Russian-speaking world."
