Miranda wins four awards for HD-Bridge DEC
Miranda Technologies has won four broadcast-industry awards for technology innovation for its new HD-Bridge DEC, an HDV to HD-SDI 1080i/720p interface that provides easy HDV conversion for uncompressed playout and editing.
The four awards from prominent industry publications include Broadcast Engineering's Pick Hit Award, TV Technology's STAR (Superior Technology Award Recipient) Award, Video Systems' Pick Hit Award, and Millimeter's NAB Pick Hit Award.
"The HD-Bridge DEC has been recognised as a key element in enabling the wider adoption of the HDV format," said Gilbert Besnard, Director of Product Development at Miranda Technologies. "It allows broadcasters to play out HDV content easily using their existing HD-SDI infrastructures, and it maximises video quality by allowing editing in uncompressed HD-SDI."
The combination of HDV cameras and Miranda's HD-Bridge DEC can deliver full-quality HD-SDI content at less than one-tenth of the cost of an HD or film camera. This will really open up the market for HD beyond the big networks and high-end content producers."
Miranda's HD-Bridge DEC is a neat and affordable desktop interface that addresses multiple HDV interfacing tasks. The interface accepts HDV via an IEEE-1394 (iLink, FireWire) connection and outputs HD-SDI at 1080i/720p with embedded audio and time code. Dual HD-SDI outputs provide one clean feed and one feed with time code and graticule markers. The interface also provides analogue HD plus AES and analogue audio outputs, and it offers VTR control for batch capture.
