Prime Television purchases new Sony HDV camera

Prime Television, one of the UK's leading HD broadcast facilities companies, has purchased 12 new Sony HVR-Z1 camcorders and three recorders, plus accessories.
Prime has invested £30,000 in the new equipment as it sees that it is set to revolutionise television putting Digital Betacam quality in the hands of producers and making it a natural progression from shooting with the hugely successful PD150/170 camcorders. The equipment will be available for long or short -term rental, dry hire or with crew.
The HDV format also provides an affordable migration path to High Definition giving 1080i (50i PAL / 60i NTSC).
The camera itself uses DVCAM tapes and will even shoot in DV/DVCAM mode, making it dual purpose, and it boasts over 40 additional features over the consumer version making it ideal for the low budget professional.
