Elliott to take over at ITV

ITV drama boss Nick Elliott is to run the network for six weeks in the New Year, as the BBC executive who has been hired to replace David Liddiment cannot start until February
Elliott, who considered running for the job of programme director himself, was asked to take over during the interregnum because he is seen as a safe pair of hands after seven years as ITV drama controller.
He will take charge of programming for ITV1 from the end of the year until February 17, when David Liddiment's replacement, BBC boss Nigel Pickard starts his contract.
