WADDELL’S LAUNCH MAJOR PROGRAMME TRIO

THE MONTHS of March and April will see the launch of three brand new programmes developed and produced by Brian Waddell Productions Limited (BWPL) of Holywood in Northern Ireland.
BWPL Chairman and Managing Director Brian Waddell said: “We have three brand new series going on screen within the space of three weeks.
“In the thirteen-year life of the company, this is unprecedented. What makes the situation all the more satisfying is that the three series have been devised, developed and produced in-house and are exploring exciting new broadcast avenues.”
First on screen is ‘Celebrity Rankin Challenge’ with top Northern Ireland chef Paul Rankin. In the twelve-part series he teams up with some of Northern Ireland’s best-known actors, comedians, performers and sportsmen. Among his hosts are actors Adrian Dunbar, Charlie Lawson, 'Big Brother' star Tom McDermott, comedian Frank Carson, television presenters Sean Rafferty and Shauna Lowry and sportsmen Gerry Taggart, Celtic mid-fielder Neil Lennon, rugby star David Humphries and ballerina Gillian Revie.
‘Built To Measure’ is the second series to be launched. This programme is an informative and entertaining fifteen part series for ‘Discovery Home and Leisure’. The series focuses on the construction of an exclusive development of four executive homes in the Malone area of Belfast. The series goes behind the front doors to meet the owners and find out how their lifestyles have influenced the interior planning, design and decoration.
In April ‘Ten Of The Best’, a major 40 programme series that puts the spotlight on Irish cuisine is launched. Produced for both ‘Taste/CFN (formerly Carlton Food Network) and RTÉ, the series will feature ten of Ireland’s top chefs who will each present four half-hour programmes. The programme will feature viewers visiting the chefs in their own restaurants and out and about with their suppliers and producers, before joining them in the state-of –art kitchen specially built at BWPL Strand Studios in Holywood, County Down.
Among the featured chefs are Northerners Paul Rankin of Cayenne, Robbie Millar of Shanks, Nick Price of Nick’s Warehouse and Derry Clarke of L’Ecrivain in Dublin. (AMcE)
