Video Technics to introduce third generation of NewsFlow at NAB

The third generation of NewsFlow, Video Technics’ proven all-digital tapeless newsroom solution, is being released at NAB 2005.
The NewsFlow solutions, which promise significant enhancements, will be showcased at the Video Technics Stand (C3647) and the Comprompter Stand (SU10736).
NewsFlow, now in Version 3 form, was developed to reduce costs, increase efficiency and control the entire production process. The solution now provides maximum asset management control via enhanced security options including user profiles, user/group settings and storage quotas. Video Technics is a provider of IT-based still image, video clip servers and software solutions for improving workflow in the broadcast industry,
Residing at the heart of NewsFlow is Video Technics’ Apella Video Clip Server, a scalable and robust server for ingest and playout. New features include complete offline and "nearline" archiving solutions through the Apella auto archive and an auto purge function for video clips and audio tracks. NewsFlow v3.0 is fully certified with most major high-end nearline and offline archiving solutions.
For improved network file ingest performance, NewsFlow v3.0 offers the standalone VT Media Encoder Server. This system is dedicated to processing file import requests from NLE Exports and as well as the Apella Hotfolder, which is now fully integrated with the PathFire Digital Media Gateway. The VT Media Encoders are able to process multiple files simultaneously expediting new media to air.
The new remote VT Proxy Editor application provides an improved multi-track timeline editing interface with a sizeable program monitor and a media import and audio record function. Users working offline can also edit projects with proxies and use the new AAF file export to finish their work in Adobe Premiere Pro or other NLEs.
In addition, the VT Director application or client allows remote preview and control for multi-channel playlists which update instantly through MOS. The Auto Ripple functionality insures the integrity of the channel assignment order will not be interrupted allowing user control over multiple channels across networks under MOS automation.
Video Technics will demonstrate the complete solution at NAB in a dynamic theatre setting showing the entire process from ingest to edit to playout to archive.
