Autoscript announce plans for NAB 2005
At NAB 2005, Autoscript (formerly BDL-Autoscript), is to demonstrate its range of innovative teleprompting products.
On display will be Autoscript's unique wireless scroll control designed for the 'wandering' presenter, which is now in daily use at Independent Television (ITV) newsrooms in the UK. The discreet hand-held device includes story select buttons and a GPI facility to control other devices such as a weather map. An ActiveX controller, which enables a prompter to be managed and scrolled from any newsroom client, will also be demonstrated. The system has the optional ability to scroll two prompters in synchronisation at different locations using a network/internet connection.
Autoscript will also show updates to the popular +WinPlus+ Prompting Software with many new facilities and newsroom interfaces, including the successful implementation of MOS software.
+WinPlus+ operates as a stand-alone system or can be networked to any major automated newsroom system, such as ENPS, NewStar, Dalet/A.N.N. Open Media, iNews, AP Newscentre, Octopus and many others. With the ability to operate in any language supported by Windows and Unicode, +WinPlus+ offers resilience to the system. Prompter text can be output as data for Closed Captioning and the new PCI PromptCard has full NTSC or PAL color capability with optional Genlock.
The XBox USB provides the same facilities in an external mains/battery powered enclosure for use with a laptop, interfacing through the USB port. +WinPlus+ can be controlled by an unlimited number of local or remote desk/foot speed controls using the ControlNet system with standard coax video cable connectivity.
Autoscript will feature a range of high specification colour-capable TFT Flat Panel On-Camera Prompters in eight sizes, ranging from 6 to 20 inches, including a new 17-inch version. All panels are specifically designed to be lightweight and 'High Brite'.
Additionally, Autoscript has added a competitively priced ELP (Entry Level-Professional) on camera prompters for studio use in 12- and 15-inch screen sizes which offer a direct replacement for conventional CRT based prompters.
For public speaking engagements and award ceremonies, Autoscript will demonstrate a system of automated, programmable rise and fall glass stands and the new PowerPrompt module which enables +WinPlus+ prompting software to control a Power Point presentation using commands embedded within the prompter text.
