Eyeheight to introduce irisHDi ultra-compact switcher at NAB

Scheduled to make its world premiere at NAB 2005 in April, Eyeheight's irisHDi is an ultra-compact HDTV vision switcher with eight HD-SDI inputs, programme/preset control and two auxiliary bus outputs.
Features include video mix, wipe and cut as well as U & V fades/transitions under manual or automatic control.
The irisHDi is structured as an 8 x 4 HD-SDI crosspoint router and dual-input HD-SDI vision switcher. Self-contained and field-upgradable, the switcher is based on Eyeheight's new evolutionDT hardware platform.
The evolutionDT chassis occupies half rack width by 1U height and incorporates an IP interface allowing easy remote interrogation and update. The chassis forms the basis for Eyeheight's new range of highly cost-efficient multi-standard HD-SDI equipment for the burgeoning worldwide HDTV market. It is designed to allow high-speed Ethernet control.
The ability to house two Eyeheight chassis in 1U of rack space enables powerful and versatile HDTV systems to be assembled on a compact, scalable and highly cost-efficient basis.
The IP protocol itself gives systems integrators and operational staff the reliability of Eyeheight's firmware-based platform plus the speed and efficiency of true online engineering support.
