CHROMATEC AND BARCO CREATE ‘ISTUDIO’

CHROMATEC and Barco have announced a strategic co-operation to bundle their technological know-how and expertise to offer an integrated solution for broadcasting.
Barco’s iSTUDIO has been introduced as a convenient and accurate solution to monitor up to 30 video windows, simultaneously. With Chromatec’s in-picture audio metering, iSTUDIO now functions as the single point reference to monitor all audio, video and any associated information in real-time. Barco's iSTUDIO has responded to the growing demand for an integrated monitoring system. Consisting of a high-resolution display, a graphic controller and web-based operating software, one single module combines all of video and audio monitoring requirements.
The graphic control unit, HYDRA, incorporates audio metering designed by Chromatec. HYDRA is capable of combining all source types commonly required by the industry, including composite, S-video and SDI video on PAL, SECAM, and NTSC in 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios. Any associated information such as computer data, clocks, animated logos, counters and source identification can be monitored.
Each image can be up-scaled to the full output resolution ranging from SVGA up to UXG. HYDRA also offers the possibility of monitoring embedded audio for 30 video channels (SDI) or up to 112 external audio channels as a result of the joint development with Chromatec. Main features include on-screen peak meters and phase meters as well as full customisation of bar size, orientation, position and colours. (AMcE)
