Multimedia Direct gears up to meet huge HD demand

The release of Sony's Z1 camera and deck is set to bring professional HDV into the mainstream, and Multimedia Direct, the central London-based specialist reseller, is offering customers two editing solutions that will enable them to take full advantage of this powerful new format.
The first solution is Pinnacle Systems' Liquid Chrome HD, a hardware/software package that offers all of the broadcast quality SD and HD I/O options, including HD-SDI I/O to complement the native FireWire support.
With Liquid Chrome HD, you can seamlessly connect to a variety of professional breakout boxes as well as output SD and HD to tape simultaneously.
Also exclusive to MMD is Edius HD for HD from Canopus, which takes you to the world of HD and HDV video production. It has a seamless realtime workflow using any mix of HD and SD video formats, so editors can work with unlimited video, audio and effects layers, while always previewing projects in high-quality, full resolution HD and SD video.
