Miranda Launches Single Card 3Gbps/HD/SD Video And Audio Processor

Miranda Technologies has launched a new Densite Series 3 Gbps/HD/SD video and audio processor, called the XVP-3901, which provides all the functions needed for advanced signal processing on a single card.
Gilbert Besnard, Director of Infrastructure Management at Miranda Technologies, said: "Now, instead of using multiple interfacing cards and dedicated devices, broadcasters will be able to use a single module for high quality video and audio processing.
"A one card solution minimises costs, simplifies video and audio integration and also substantially reduces cabling requirements."
The XVP-3901 is ideal for adapting feeds to match a facility's 'house format'. It can accept 3Gbps/HD/SD feeds, and continuously deliver independent 3G/HD and SD outputs.
The processor performs all the necessary up/down/cross conversion, colour space and aspect ratio conversion to maintain the chosen output formatting, irrespective of the input format.
An optional fiber cartridge simplifies fiber installation, and provides easy selection between fiber and BNC inputs/outputs. The processor supports AFD automatic aspect ratio control and offers background keying so that side panels, or top/bottom panels, introduced by up/down/conversion can be filled with video or graphics.
The XVP-3901 performs processing of 16 channels of embedded audio with automatic delay of all 16 channels (four groups) to keep lip-sync. Full audio processing, including shuffling, down-mixing, dynamic processing (limiter, compressor and expander), as well as four AES input and four AES output channels, are available as options.
For less demanding applications, the XVP-3901 is available in four simpler versions, including an upconverter, a cross converter, a frame sychroniser/ARC and a downconverter.
These reduced functionality cards can be easily upgraded in the field to the full XVP specification, thereby simplifying maintenance and offering flexibility for the future.
