EDIT 123 RECEIVE BAFTA ACCOLADE

GLASGOW Television facilities company Edit 123 are giving pride of place in the trophy cabinet to the BAFTA collected by staff editor Andy Fegen at the national awards in London for ‘Dudley Moore: After the Laughter’, which was produced for BBC Omnibus.
Fegen was both Offline and Online editor on the programme, which took six weeks to cut together. An edit suite was purpose built at Producer/Director Norman Stone's house for the Offline and the programme was then brought Online at Edit 123's facilities in Blythswood Street. The whole process took six weeks from start to finish, a remarkable timetable for a project of this size.
Fegan said: "It was 22 hour days and sleeping on a couch in the edit suite, but everybody was happy to go that extra mile because of the nature of the programme. I am delighted to receive this award, especially having seen the job through from start to finish, but a lot of other people worked every bit as hard as I did."
Norman Stone said: "Because of the nature of Dudley's illness, we were denied a standard interview. We chose not to go the conventional route and rely on lots of film clips, but rather stayed with him and produced a classic old style crafted portrait. Not many people can do that any more, and I'm delighted for Andy that his work has been honoured with this award."
Andy also collected a Kodak Award for Excellence, along with the other nominees in the Editing and Cinematography categories. (GB)
