NEVILLE HUGHES JOINS CWMNI DA

TELEVISION producer Neville Hughes of Bethel near Caernarfon, has joined Welsh independent television production company Cwmni Da as a Shareholder and Company Director.
Hughes was responsible for the ratings success ‘From Wales with Love’ which was transmitted on HTV recently. The series was highly praised - along with the police drama Taggart - by the Minister with responsibility for Broadcasting in Westminster, Janet Anderson, as an example of the type of programming that ITV Broadcasters should be producing.
"We’re very happy that Neville is becoming part of the company” said Gwyn Williams on behalf of Cwmni Da, "his experience and track record speak for themselves. He’ll be a major asset to the company".
Hughes said: "I’m delighted to be joining Cwmni Da. I’ve been working on 'Y Sioe Gelf' for S4C and 'From Wales with Love' for HTV through Cwmni Da and am at present working on a programme for the BBC series “Life Matters”.
Neville was born and brought up in Llandudno Junction and attended Ysgol Aberconwy, Conwy and University College of Wales, Aberystwyth. He has worked for BBC Radio Gwent, S4C, Ffilmiau Elidir and Ffilmiau Eryri before joining Cwmni Da as a freelance director in 1999.
Cwmni Da is an independent television production company based in Caernarfon and produces programmes for S4C, S4C Digital, HTV, BBC and the Digital College. The company was formed in 1997 and at present employs 18 people. (GB)
