PINEWOOD INVEST £250,000 IN NEW CAMERA LENSES

PINEWOOD Studios, which launched their own dedicated TV studio complex at the end of last year, have invested more than a quarter of a million pounds in four state-of-the-art new camera lenses for producers.
The studio is among the first in Europe to acquire Canon’s Digi Super 25’s, designed for use with both 2/3” standard definition TV (SDTV) Digital TV (DTV) and High Definition (HD) cameras. The lenses, which have a 25x zoom ratio and a wide angle of 6.8mm, also incorporate Canon’s acclaimed Internal Focusing (IF) system.
Pinewood’s Executive Director, Steve Gunn, said: “This latest expenditure is further evidence of our commitment to building Europe’s finest media park. Some of our competitors tried to dismiss Pinewood’s move into television as half-baked and temporary, but you don’t continue to make this kind of investment unless you’re serious and in it for the long-term.”
Pinewood have already invested a seven-figure sum to convert one of their film stages into a 9,000 sq ft fully digital TV studio with spacious production offices, green rooms and luxury dressing rooms as part of the TV complex.
The BBC, Princess Productions, Chrysalis and DLT Entertainment UK have already housed productions in the new complex, while Renault and EDS are among the blue-chip clients who have staged corporate events and productions on the site. (CD)
