FID cooks up global interest in 'Jamie Oliver’s School Dinners'

Jamie Oliver will be promoting healthy eating habits to school children around the world following a deal reached with Fremantle International Distribution (FID).
The distribution arm of FremantleMedia, FID has announced sales of his brand new series, 'Jamie’s School Dinners' (4x60’) to broadcasters in Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Norway, Denmark and Sweden.
As the series is currently in the final stages of production for Channel 4 in the UK, all the broadcasters have signed up to air the latest offering from the British celebrity chef purely on the popularity of Oliver, the production standards of his company, Fresh One Productions, and the past success of his series.
Paul Ridley, Vice President Sales Asia Pacific closed deals for Jamie’s School Dinners with Singapore’s Mediacorp, Thailand’s UBC, Hong Kong’s TVB, Australia’s Network Ten and with TVNZ in New Zealand. The Australian deal also included a license renewal for Oliver’s previous series 'Oliver's Twist' series 2 as well as signing up to broadcast Oliver's Twist series 1 and 'Jamie Oliver’s Happy Days Tour - Live!', for the first time.
Ridley said: “Jamie Oliver is, without a doubt, one of FID’s most popular talents. Once a broadcaster takes one of his series, they tend to acquire them all. His programming rates well everywhere and the enthusiasm of these broadcasters to license Oliver’s latest series is testament to its quality.”
