Last call for Siemens CINE 'Excellence in Technology Innovation' award entries

Siemens Business Services Media (formerly BBC Technology) and CINE, one of the nation's oldest and most prestigious film and video organisations, have announced the Spring 2005 competition for Excellence in Technology Innovation.
The new award recognises technological innovation in film and video production, and enhancement in viewing film, television and/or broadband. The panel of judges include industry executives from Discovery Communications, Eastman Kodak, Henninger Media Services, Clear Channel Entertainment Television, Siemens and CINE. The winner will be notified by January 15, 2005. CINE and Siemens will sponsor a presentation and demonstration of the winning technology to all attendees at CINE’s 46th Golden Eagle Awards Ceremony in Washington D.C. on April 14, 2005.
"The award recognises companies and individuals whose innovation has achieved a significant milestone in the production process or viewing experience of film, television and broadband," said Ed McDermid, head of marketing, North American operations, Siemens Business Services Media.
"CINE is proud to join with Siemens Business Services Media in establishing this new ‘Excellence in Technology’ award," said David L. Weiss, executive director, CINE. "It fits perfectly with our mission to discover, recognize, educate and support talent and innovation across the wide spectrum of the visual arts."
The worldwide deadline for submission is November 22, 2004 at 5:00 p.m. EST. Applicants are required to explain (in English) the innovation of their technology clearly and address as many of the following criteria as are applicable within the 1000 word limit: creativity and audience appeal, effect on production, and adaptability.
