Deadline approaches for Skillset Welsh language consultation

Public consultation on Skillset’s draft Welsh Language Scheme, which outlines the organisation’s plans to promote the language in broadcasting, is to end on Thursday November 25.
The scheme is being introduced in accordance with the Welsh Language Act 1993 and, under Section 13 of the Act, Skillset has a duty to issue the draft scheme for public consultation "in order to ascertain views representative of both Welsh speaking and other members of the public who may be affected by the scheme."
After the consultation is complete the scheme will be finalised and submitted to the Welsh Language Board for final approval by the end of January 2005.
