FIRST LIGHT SCHEME AWARDS THREE WELSH ORGANISATIONS

AWARDS for the first year of First Light have been made to three Welsh organisations.
Valley Kids will make one film and have secured £4,785. Friends of Maesgwyn Special School will make one film and have secured £3,500, and Flintshire Schools Arts Agency have secured £2,450 for one film.
The First Light scheme has already provided substantial funding to a range of companies and organisations enabling them to inspire and encourage young people to develop skills across the whole filmmaking process.
First Light also supports the young filmmakers it funds through mentors from the film industry who can offer additional advice and guidance in the creative and technical aspects of making a short film. (CD)
