Sonifex debut at Broadcast India 2004

Sonifex are exhibiting at Broadcast India 2004 in Mumbai for the first time, on stand C51.
In conjunction with their Indian distributor, Comcon Industries, they are showing a range of new products.
Managing Director of Sonifex Ltd, Marcus Brooke, said:"We're very excited about doing the Broadcast India show for the first time. We've sold a large number of our Courier portable recorders into India in the last 12 months and we'd like to meet as many of the users and customers as we can. Additionally, the Indian broadcast market seems to be expanding rapidly so we're here to see for ourselves what equipment radio broadcasters need."
With sales of over 300 units to All India Radio last year, the Courier portable flashcard recorder will be demonstrated using PCMCIA flash-card as its recording media to record MPEG, BWF or .WAV audio data files. A USB version of the Courier is available which enables downloads to the PC of up to 40 times real-time speed.
Sonifex's Redbox range of audio interfaces continues to expand with the addition of some new audio distribution products - come to the stand to catch up with the latest releases. On display are digital audio converters, word-clock, audio and headphone distribution amplifiers, microphone amplifiers, matching amplifiers, mixers, source select units, silence detect unit, a limiter, a light controller and stereo to mono converters. Specifically on show is the RB-PMX4 analogue preset mixer. The RB-PMX4 is a high performance 1U rack-mount 10 mono input to 4 mono output preset mixer. Each of the four outputs has a 10 way DIP switch associated with it to select which of the 10 inputs are routed to it. So, by altering the DIP switches, any of the input sources can be mixed to any of the outputs. accidentally changed for secure applications. The RB-PMX4 has been designed for situations where a small mixer is needed for installations where it will be configured and then only altered occasionally, or never altered. Uses for this product are numerous including a four bus mini- mixer, a 4 zone mixer for pubs and clubs and a quad stereo to mono converter to name a few.
Also on display is the RB-SD1 silence detection unit which is used to monitor an unattended stereo studio feed and will switch through an alternative signal if it detects that the studio feed has gone below a defined audio level for a defined period of time. Remote inputs and outputs can be used to signal alarm conditions and to control the unit. The secondary input signal can either be in the form of a recorded message or a previously recorded programme.
The HY-03 high quality analogue telephone hybrid has a lower price and greater feature-set than its predecessor the HY-02. The HY-03 can be used for radio and TV station call-ins providing low distortion, crystal clear, audio. Some features include fully automatic operation, signal limiting, local and remote line hold switching, integrated auto-answer, a balanced mic/line input and balanced line output.
