Multi-award winning ‘Omagh’ secures international sales deals

Irish feature ‘Omagh’, the powerful story of the Omagh bombing, is continuing its huge success on the international circuit.
Following Omagh’s prestigious win at the Toronto Film Festival, where it scooped the coveted Discovery Award decided by over 700 international film critics, it went on to scoop the Best Screenplay and CICAE Award for Best European Film at the San Sebastian Film Festival last week.
Continuing its presence at prominent festivals, Omagh is screening at the Dinard Film Festival in Northern France this weekend, has been selected to open the Flanders Film Festival next month and is in competition at the Stockholm Film Festival in November.
The film, which Variety this week described as a “startlingly powerful achievement” has also attracted international sales deals from France, Italy, Benelux, Canada, Argentina and has significant interest from other territories.
Producer Ed Guiney said: "We're delighted that the story of the Omagh Support Group is being brought to an international audience through these festivals and distribution deals. Obviously this is a story that resonates in today's world."
