ARLINGTON INTERACTIVE PROVIDE ONLINE TRAINING COURSE

DEVON MULTIMEDIA development company, Arlington Interactive, pulled off something of a coup recently in winning a contract to provide the European Commission with an online training course.
The project involves designing and building a multimedia training manual, accessible online and on CD-ROM, to help European research organisations bid successfully for EC funding.
Chairman Martin Jones said: "We're delighted that the European Commission have recognised our worth. These projects often go to large organisations with offices in Brussels, so it's nice to know that a North Devon-based company can compete on level terms with anyone."
A point confirmed by Managing Director Mike Birch, currently busy with the company's production of a new tourist video of Cornwall in collaboration with the Cornish Tourist Board.
He said: "We've worked with many local organisations, and in fact we pride ourselves on being very much a local company ourselves, but with the advent of the new economy, distance is no longer a major factor in delivering our services. Our current customers include two Italian multinationals and an American corporation, none of whom are exactly close at hand."
Arlington Interactive specialises in interactive training products, as well as multimedia tools and services for the corporate and tourism sectors. The company is based at Hele Business Park, Ilfracombe. (CD)
