C4 APPOINTS FEATURES COMMISSIONING EDITOR IN REGIONS

CHANNEL 4 have appointed a new member to their commissioning team, as Emma Westcott joins as Deputy Commissioning Editor, Features.
Westcott will be based for two days a week in the London office, and three days in cities throughout the regions, operating from her Manchester base.
Westcott has extensive experience within the broadcasting industry, spanning over 10 years. For the last 3 years, she has been employed as Executive Producer, Entertainment and Features at BBC Manchester. Previously she worked to Danielle Lux at Granada within Children’s Entertainment. She started her career as a researcher and producer at BBC Birmingham.
Starting with Channel 4 on July 30, Westcott will be working chiefly on projects in Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow and Leeds. These will include the prime-time property show, Location, Location, Location from Ideal World in Glasgow, as well as a number of forthcoming new series - one of which is being produced by Planet Wild in Liverpool and another by Yorkshire TV in Leeds.
Commissioning Editor, Features, Ben Frow, said: “Emma has an impressive track record in working on features and already has strong relations with producers, particularly within the North West. This is the first time we have appointed a genre editor, who will split their time between London and the rest of the UK.
“It is an exciting venture for us all and something I believe in passionately in terms of demonstrating our commitment to regional production.”
