Thomson delivers first Grass Valley Spirit 4K to Framestore CFC

Thomson, a world leading provider of integrated solutions to the entertainment and media industries, has sold the first Grass Valley Spirit 4K high-performance film scanner in the United Kingdom to Framestore CFC, in London.
The new Grass Valley Spirit 4K suite at Framestore CFC in London will be on line in September.
Spirit 4K high-performance film scanner combines a realtime uncompressed 2k telecine/datacine with high-throughput 4k film scanning, giving facilities the option to select the resolution which best suits each project. On screen, the Grass Valley Spirit 4K high-performance film scanner has played a key role in the postproduction of major films and commercials this year, including - most recently - Universal Studio’s ‘Catwoman’.
“We are delighted to complete this landmark deal with a leading post houses,” said Marc Valentin, president of Thomson Broadcast & Media Solutions. “What we are seeing is that facilities –whether working in commercials or film - need to offer the creative workflow that Thomson’s digital film applications offer. The Spirit 4K high-performance film scanner, with its choice of resolutions, fits perfectly into this new world of creativity.”
