AVID EUROPE STRENGTHENS SENIOR MANAGEMENT TEAM

AVID TECHNOLOGY Europe are making several announcements concerning senior management changes at their International Head Office based within Pinewood Studios, Bucks.
Avid have announced the appointment of Graham Sharp to the newly-created position of Vice President, European Sales. Avid have also announced the promotion of David Carew-Jones, formerly Avid’s Director of Sales and Marketing, International, to the position of Vice President, Marketing, International.
The decision to create separate roles for sales and marketing at vice president level will bring additional strength to Avid Technology’s senior management team.
Sharp joins Avid from Post Impressions where he was managing director. Previous positions held include senior sales and marketing roles at Alpha Image, Dynatech and Discreet. He has also previously worked for Avid Technology in Hong Kong.
In addition, Avid have welcomed back Mike Morrissy who joins Avid’s iNews subsidiary as Director of Broadcast Operations, Europe.
Morrissy was previously employed by Avid in 1993 when he held the position of Broadcast Sales Manager with Avid Technology UK. He relocated in 1998 as part of Avid’s Broadcast Sales partnership with Tektronix. More recently he has worked for Grass Valley Group as Director of sales for Northern Europe, and Internet routing and hosting company, Sendmail.com, as General Manager. Morrissy will report to Sharp, working out of iNews’ European Head Office in Basingstoke.
Avid have also promoted Richard Craig-McFeely, formerly Avid’s product marketing manager for Avid|DS, to the position of Softimage European Business Manager. He will report to Jeff Stewart, Director of Product Marketing, International. (CD)
