Pinewood-Shepperton appoints new sales & marketing director

Pinewood-Shepperton Limited – the studio facilities group formed by the merger of the UK’s largest film and television production centres – have announced the appointment of Nick Smith to spearhead the group’s sales and marketing efforts.
Combining and marketing the respective strengths of two major production facilities demands a unique array of skills and the appointment of Nick Smith compliments an experienced group management team.
Mr Smith takes up his position at a pivotal moment for Pinewood-Shepperton, as well as for the British Film and Television industry as a whole. Domestic production is forecast to take off in the coming months, while the studios are already busy with large feature productions including ‘Die Another Day’ (the 20th and latest of the Bond movies). This is alongside an explosion in television production at Pinewood since the launch last year of two 9000 sq ft digital television studios.
Significantly, the studios group has reshaped itself in recent years, to become one of the most technologically advanced production sites in the world; culminating in a recent BT ‘Vision-100’ award for its ‘Studio Link’ broadband and intranet package.
