WELSH FILM FESTIVAL TAKES DM DAVIES AWARD SUBMISSIONS
ENTRIES are now being accepted for the 2001 DM Davies award, one of Europe’s largest short film prizes at the 13th International Film Festival of Wales which this year is to be held between November 22 to the 29 2001.
To be eligible for the award the work can be originated on DV, Video, Film or Beta. The duration of the work submitted must be no more than 25 minutes. The film must not have been screened publicly prior to the opening of the 2001 International Film Festival of Wales, and it should not have previously been submitted to the Festival.
The work must have been completed since November 22, 1999. The filmmaker must be a native of Wales or have been a full time resident in Wales for two consecutive years and may be required to provide documentary proof on request. Submissions must be the work of a filmmaker who has had no more than three works of fiction, live action or animation, theatrically released or broadcast. All entries, comprising of a VHS or DVC copy of the film and a completed application form, must be received at the Office of The International Film Festival of Wales by September 28 2001. The winner of the 2001 DM Davies award will receive project sponsorship contributing to the production of a new short film.
