HILLSIDE INVEST IN JVC CAMERA’S FOR FACILITY REFURBISHMENT

HILLSIDE, owned by British television production company CTVC, have invested in JVC cameras as part of their programme of overall refurbishment.
The facility, which has been in existence for over 40 years, is an operational television production centre and is frequently used by BBC, ITV and independent producers to make programmes.
The JVC cameras will be installed in one of their broadcast quality studios, which is used for professional media training.
Chris Hillier, Chief Engineer at Hillside, said: "We chose the JVC KY-D29WE cameras for a number of reasons. Firstly for their ability to interface with the existing Hillside infrastructure, and the compatibility with our existing lenses, secondly for the excellent technical support from JVC and the good relationship that we have established with the JVC sales team in the past."
Other unique features to the KY-D29WE cameras include an enhanced skin tone detail function, a six-axis colour matrix circuit which adds to the operator's ability to create clear, true-to-life colour tones and large tally lamps which are easy to see from a wide viewing angle.
Hillier, and Brian Owen, senior cameraman at the facility, picked the JVC cameras for both their engineering qualities and their operational attributes.
An important feature for Hillside is the camera’s flexibility in operating with variable camera cable lengths, which enables them to move swiftly from one studio to another. (CD)
