TARDIS TWO HITS THE ROAD

DEMAND for the unique facilities of Total Audio Solutions' TArdiS digital recording vehicle have led the company to build a second machine.
Imaginatively labelled "TArdis Two", this second vehicle is a development of the ‘small but perfectly formed’ concept used during the construction of the first TArdiS in July 2000. The design was based on years of ‘learning opportunities’ using other trucks and working on a range of productions from RDF's "Scrapheap" to BBC Radio 4's "Gardeners Question Time". The two mobiles share much of the same equipment - a Sony DMX-R100 digital console forms the heart of the system - and can handle much the same kind of work. The TArdiS is the brainchild of Total Audio Solution's MD Peter Knowles, who explains: "The idea of having 48 inputs and 32 tracks of recording capability in a Transit sized package three or four years ago would be unheard of, but advances in digital technology have meant that this is now possible with some careful planning."
TArdiS has recently finished work on "The Weakest Link" and a UK wide TV tour for the Christian Channel, and similar work is lined up for the second vehicle.
