NaturalMotion launches endorphin 1.6

NaturalMotion Ltd, British developer of dynamic motion synthesis technology, is to launch version 1.6 of its highly-acclaimed 3D animation software endorphin at Siggraph 2004, running from August 8-12 in Los Angeles.
New features include new and enhanced adaptive AI behaviors, optimized character simulation, camera import, video plane back projection and dotXSI support.
Based on the company’s revolutionary Dynamic Motion Synthesis technology, endorphin uses AI and dynamics simulation to create 3D character animation in real-time, thus dramatically accelerating 3D animation pipelines in the visual effects and games industries.
Torsten Reil, CEO of NaturalMotion, said: “endorphin is evolving at a rapid pace, and version 1.6 features a number of major enhancements. Of particular interest to the visual effects community will be the ability to import camera data and live action footage into the software. This means that users can see their endorphin characters as they interact with the film set in real-time.”
endorphin 1.6 also features more and further enhanced adaptive AI behaviors, which are at the core of the Dynamic Motion Synthesis approach.
In addition, optimisation of the endorphin character has resulted in a 110% speed gain as well as improved biomechanics.
