Ikegami To Demonstrate Latest Production Advances At NAB

Ikegami USA will exhibit the latest additions to its range of broadcast quality production equipment at the April 6th-9th 2025 NAB Show in Las Vegas.
Highlights on booth N1539 in the LVCC North Hall will include the new IPX-100 IP extension unit. Also new is the UHL-X40 ultracompact UHD/HD HDR camera which makes its first NAB Las Vegas appearance.
"We will be highlighting an expanded range of IP-connected applications," says Alan Keil, Vice President and Director of Engineering. "The IPX-100 IP extension unit is an alternative to the conventional base station, extending the operational versatility of our entire UNICAM product range. Television content creators worldwide are also taking an increasing interest in robotic camera systems for applications such as newsrooms, self-op-studios, point-of-view capture and close-up coverage of arena sports. Our new UHL-X40 elevates broadcast production to a higher than ever level of creativity, precision and efficiency."
NAB LAS VEGAS SHOW PREMIERE: IPX-100 IP extension unit
Making its first US show appearance, the IPX-100 is a compact IP base station for Ikegami UNICAM XE and UNICAM HD cameras. It allows broadcast content creators to adopt SMPTE ST 2110 IP remote operation while supporting the familiar workflow of baseband live production. Each camera can feed into an IPX-100 via up to 2 miles of conventional SMPTE-hybrid fiber cable. The camera head is powered by the IPX-100 so there is no operational difference for the camera operator compared with using a conventional fiber-cabled camera. An integral test signal generator allows system configuration before cameras or other sources are connected. Support is also included for the video trunk channel of Ikegami UNICAM XE cameras. An HD-SDI video monitoring output allows direct connection of a field monitor to the IPX-100, facilitating initial setup. A web browser, XE Web View, is now available for remote setup and monitoring of the IPX-100.
NAB LAS VEGAS SHOW PREMIERE: Ikegami UHL-X40 ultracompact UHD/HD HDR camera
Launched at the October 2024 NAB New York exhibition and now fully deliverable, the Ikegami UHL-X40 is a broadcast-quality two-piece box-style UHD/HD HDR camera designed for applications where size and weight are a major concern. Examples include robotic studio, remote sport and stage production, and point-of-view video capture. The camera head is just 4.7 x 5 x 4.4 inches in size and weighs only 2.4 pounds. Optimized for applications requiring an inconspicuous camera with uncompromised UHD performance, the head is powered locally with 12 volts DC (just 23 watts) and connects to the compact CCU-X40 via up to 6.2 miles of duplex single-mode fiber carrying uncompressed RGB raw pixel data. Included with the fiber link is a 1G Ethernet trunk for external data such as pan/tilt/zoom control. The camera incorporates three high quality 2/3 inch UHD sensors with a global shutter pixel architecture which captures natural images even when shooting LED screens, clear of geometric distortion during still frame replay. The global shutter imagers also minimize artifacts when televising flash/strobe-illuminated stage environments. The UHL-X40 achieves F10 sensitivity at 2160p59.94, and a signal-to-noise ratio of 62 dB in HD. HDR and BT.2020 color reproduction are available as standard.
Ikegami UHK-X700 UHD/HD HDR studio/portable camera with IP and HFR options
Ikegami’s UHK-X700 is a top-of-the-line camera designed to combine high signal quality with versatile connectivity. It can be pedestal or tripod mounted or operated over the shoulder. The front end includes three 2/3 inch CMOS UHD sensors with a global shutter to minimize artifacts when shooting LED screens or scenes illuminated with flash or strobe lighting. Full HDR/SDR support is included plus the ability to choose between BT.2020 and BT.709 chroma spaces. HFR shooting at up to 2x speed in UHD or up to 8x in HD via the base station is possible as an option. When combined with the Ikegami BSX-100 base station or CCU-X100 camera control unit, the UHK-X700 can output UHD/HD video formats simultaneously. IP interface of video, audio and intercom I/O is available conforming to SMPTE ST 2110 standards as an option for the base station or CCU. UHD video is available as a 12G-SDI feed directly from the camera head, allowing integration into a wireless system. Weighing only 11 pounds, the UHK-X700 comes with a B4 lens mount and has an optical sensitivity of F10 when operating at UHD/59.94p.
Ikegami UHK-X750 full studio version of UHK-X700 camera
The UHK-X750 is a full studio camera with all the UHK-X700 features except those that apply to portable shoulder operation. It offers a lower center-of-gravity and easier staging compared to a portable camera with telephoto lens and supporter. The UHK-X750 also features greater design emphasis on ease of service and cool operation.
Ikegami UHK-X600 HD studio/portable camera with UHD, IP and HFR options
The UHK-X600 is a studio/portable camera with three 2/3 inch oversampling UHD CMOS sensors providing 1000 TVL resolution, minimal aliasing, plus 2000 lux sensitivity at f10 (60p). Standard features include full support for Hybrid Log Gamma HDR with the ability to select between BT.2020 and BT.709 chroma spaces. The UHK-X600 can be pedestal or tripod mounted or operated over the shoulder. Dimensions are 13.4 x 9.6 x 6 inches and weight is just over 11 pounds. Global shutter imagers minimize artifacts when televising LED screen walls or flash/strobe-illuminated stage environments. License-key based options include support for 2x, 3x and 4x high frame rate capture plus optional 4K processing delivering 2000 TVL resolution when operating in 2160p. Plug-in hardware-based options include a SMPTE ST 2110 compatible media-over-IP interface board and optional 12G output board. The UHK-X600 accepts a wide range of B4 lenses and supports chromatic aberration correction, vignetting correction, ramping compensation and remote control of back focus (when also supported by the lens). When combined with the Ikegami BSX-100 base station, the camera optionally supports simultaneous output in UHD and HD video formats.
Ikegami HDK-X500 HD HDR portable camera system
The Ikegami HDK-X500 is designed for use across a wide spectrum of applications including pedestal-mounted studio operation, tripod-based sports coverage and shoulder-mounted location production. Features include three latest-generation 2/3 inch CMOS global shutter sensors plus automatic optical vignetting correction throughout the range of OVC-compatible B4 bayonet mount zoom lenses. Back focus of RBF-compatible lenses can be adjusted even when the camera head is in a remote location. Optimal control of ambient lighting, studio or outdoor, is supported by the same neutral-density and color-compensation dual filter system used in Ikegami’s top-end UHK camera series. The camera’s integral digital processor provides 16-axis color correction allowing precise scene matching or to create specific effects.
