‘EMMY' NOMINATION FOR SOUND MIXING ON 'HORNBLOWER'

COLIN MARTIN, co-founder of leading audio post house Videolondon, has been nominated for an Emmy Award - one of seven Emmy nominations received by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for 'Hornblower’, the television series from United Productions for Granada Media.
Alongside sound recordist Rudi Buckle, Martin - in his role as dubbing mixer on 'Hornblower' - shares the nomination for Outstanding Sound Mixing in a Mini-series. The series was mixed on Videolondon's 64-channel Avant digital film & post production console in Studio 4 - one of two Avant consoles to have been installed in the Soho-based facility.
No stranger to nominations or awards, Martin has worked on a number of critically acclaimed programmes, winning the BAFTA Audio Craft Award for 'Elizabeth R’. More recently he has contributed to the success of a number of high-profile television drama productions for all major networks including 'Sharpe’, 'McCready & Daughter’, 'Monarch of the Glen’, and 'Rebel Heart’.
The seven Prime Time Emmy nominations for 'Hornblower’, in addition to that for sound mixing, include nominations for Outstanding Mini-Series, Art Direction and Special Effects.
The Awards will be announced at the Academy's Presentation, broadcast live by CBS on Sunday, September 16, from the Los Angeles Shrine Auditorium. (CD)
