IFB MAKE KEY BOARD APPOINTMENTS

BORD Scannán na hÉireann / the Irish Film Board is set for a major expansion in its organisation and activities, and has made two key appointments.
Teresa Mc Grane will take up the position of Head of Business Affairs with the Board. Her responsibilities will include the overall financial management of the organisation and the business analysis of film projects. Teresa will have an important role in the development of policy and strategic planning for the Film Board, and will report at Board level.
Teresa has considerable film finance experience. She set up Wildfire Films with Martha O’Neill in 1999, and produced a number of documentaries: Dead Silence, To Russia with Love and Blowing the Whistle. She is an experienced Production Accountant who has worked on films such as When Brendan Met Trudy, Agnes Browne and Trojan Eddie.
Moira Horgan, the newHead of Marketing, has extensive experience working in international marketing, public relations and event management both in Ireland and overseas. She worked as Head of Product Marketing with Iona Software for four years before moving to Australia. While overseas she worked as Events Manager with SAS, the world’s largest privately held software company, and as Marketing Manager with eVoucher a successful online retailer.
Moira’s role with the Board will involve marketing both the indigenous industry along with the promotion of Ireland as a location for international productions. She will work closely with relevant organisations to ensure that all agencies combine and co-ordinate their approach to incoming production. She will also help to develop a joint marketing initiative with the Northern Ireland Film Commission.
The IFB promotes the creative and the commercial development of Irish film-making. Since its inception in 1993 the Film Board has been responsible for over 75 feature films, television drama series, documentaries and animation films and has seen its budget grow from £1m to £7.65m.
