COVERA TO SHOWCASE SCREENING ROOM UPGRADES AT IBC

CONVERA, one of the leading providers of cross-lingual, multi-media, search and content management solutions, will be showcasing their latest improvements to Screening Room at IBC 2001.
The Screening Room enables users to capture, manage, re-purpose and publish video content.
Following a series of key partnership initiatives over recent months with broadcast players such as Grass Valley, EMC, Artesia and Bulldog, Convera have ensured that the improvements will complement existing broadcast technologies, add value to video assets and be easily integrated within the broadcast environment.
Peter Doyle, International Marketing Director, said: “IBC is the European show for broadcasters and therefore, the ideal place to demonstrate Screening Room’s additional functionality. The broadcast industry has undergone tremendous change over the past year and we are confident that Screening Room’s improvements coupled with the solid relationships we have formed with influential industry players will ensure we deliver our customers best of breed solutions to take them to the next level of managing their video assets effectively.”
Convera’s Screening Room provides scalable, high-performance access to any video asset from an ordinary web browser. With Screening Room, users can automatically capture video; browse visual summaries; catalogue content using metadata, annotations, closed caption text, and voice sound tracks; search for precise video clips using text and image clues; create rough cuts and ‘Edit Decision Lists’ for further production and publish video assets to the web for streaming.
Screening Room turns video assets into useful, profitable resources in a cost-effective way. (CD)
