POLAR Demonstrates Turbosound Manchester Series Of Loudspeakers

News Image
POLAR recently enjoyed a very successful demonstration of the Turbosound Manchester Series of loudspeakers at Old Savoy Theatre in Northampton.

Renowned for its clarity and power, the Turbosound Manchester Series features advanced waveguide technology and custom transducers, and is designed for large-scale reinforcement at concerts, festivals and stadiums, with its modular design allowing it to be scaled for indoor and outdoor venues. The event also featured the Turbosound TQ Series of point-source loudspeakers, as well as a supporting cast of Lab Gruppen amplifiers, Lake’s LMX88 digital processor and the legendary Midas HD96 console.

POLAR's dedicated Pro Audio division, led by Andy Plunkett, hosted the event which drew in a range of engineers and other audio professionals, including representatives of rental companies. Visitors experienced the Manchester Series in action and had the opportunity to get hands on with the system, discuss specific features, and gain insight into how the range can be deployed in a wide variety of professional audio settings. Also key to the event was the opportunity to chat with the POLAR team about favourable and flexible financing options.

The latest of a now well-established series of POLAR demo days, the event in Northampton once again proved to be a fruitful source of business according to Andy Plunkett: "We had a blast presenting the new Turbosound Manchester and TQ Series at The Old Savoy theatre this week. I’d heard the systems before in a smaller setting but this was a bit different and really drove home the premium performance of all of these boxes.
"We immediately received requests for quotations, so clearly those in attendance were similarly impressed! Yet again this highlights the importance and usefulness of these demos for all concerned, both to introduce our customers to new solutions, and reinforcing our own conviction that Turbosound is the real deal.
"As well as the physical demonstration it was also really interesting to hear Chris Hinds of Turbosound talk about how the systems have been developed from the ground up by their UK team, again underlining the fact that this is a genuinely viable alternative to the ‘usual suspects’ in tour sound. And of course, the chance for attendees to chat directly with the manufacturer and each other just helps to join the dots all round."

Callum Jones, Managing Director at Pro Audio Services was present on the day, and gives an upbeat summary: "Firstly, it was great to hear how the team behind the new loudspeaker series are Turbosound veterans, and that they wanted to make sure that they drew on that early years pedigree during the development of the Manchester Series!
"The MV210 with their curved source/line array capabilities were impressive, with the 'up close' sounding smooth for the near field, while the array aiming to cover the balcony area seemed to throw very well. As you walked up and down the space, there were no noticeable changes between the elements - they still maintained the same smooth and detailed presence that felt powerful even to the furthest seats at the back.
"The MV212 speakers were equally impressive. The down-fill units felt powerful, detailed and very similar in voicing to the 210 units - as Chris the demonstrator said, 'if you like one, you'll probably like them all'! I really liked the sound of the TQ series point source boxes too. We’re certainly keen to add to our stock given the right opportunity."

In spite of unexpected and extremely challenging weather conditions on the day, Andy Plunkett was pleased with the attendance and looks forward to future demo days: "We'd like to thank everyone who braved the snowy conditions to turn up at the event. Our customers really enjoyed getting hands-on with the Turbosound products. The response from everyone who attended was positive, and we look forward to staging similar events next year featuring brands from across our extensive portfolio."
