Caracol TV upgrades with Sundance Digital

Bogota-based Caracol TV took advantage of its recent move to new master control facilities by upgrading its aging control system to a FastBreak Automation configuration from Sundance Digital.
The privately owned station, one of Colombia’s largest, operates two channels on a 24/7 basis from its own production studios. Programming includes drama, variety shows, sporting events and news.
According to Yesid Guerra, Technical Director of the Caracol Network, Sundance Digital’s FastBreak Automation was selected for its "reliability, friendly interface and ease of operation".
He added: "We are very satisfied with the final results as well as the support we received during the installation process. Sundance even customized applications so we could access files from our former system."
Caracol TV is using FastBreak Automation to guarantee smooth commercial insertion and reliable playout of daily programming.
The system, located in the National Master Transmission, controls a Grass Valley 1200 Switcher, three Digital Betacams, a logo inserter, a character generator and a Leitch Nexio video server.
