A+E Networks EMEA To Refresh Its True Crime Brand Across The UK

News Image
A+E Networks EMEA has announced it is to refresh its true crime brand Crime + Investigation® across the UK.

For the past 20 years, the award-winning TV brand Crime + Investigation® has cemented itself as a leading voice when it comes to true crime storytelling. To further build its authenticity and uniqueness in the factual entertainment arena, the brand has undergone a refresh which encompasses new design concepts labelled as 'expressions' created by Agency ZAG. These visual expressions are an aesthetic approach created to highlight varied aspects of an investigation. Some are analogue and retro so looking at human behaviour, while others are more digital and modern such as scanning crimes scenes, tracing evidence, and interacting with culprit/perpetrator. All these expressions are tied together with + symbol as a unifying element.

The new design elements continue the previous brand story of inviting viewers to take part in the investigation, if not lead the case as an armchair detective with an awakened drive for justice and thirst for the truth. The stories are not linear, but they have clues and threads that connect them together, and the CI community doesn’t rest until they can take part and be immersed in the investigation.

Kenny Reynolds, VP of Creative at A+E Networks EMEA, commented: "With the rise in true crime TV brands, as the original, we felt it was time to give our brand a refresh. Research showed the brand is well loved and we’ve created a new look which takes our audience deeper into the investigation with a unique series of design expressions."

The channel's new look is part of a global refresh that started in the UK, with the launch of brand-new series, Crimes That Shook Britain with Dermot Murnaghan premiering on Monday 16 September at 21:00. The new look will roll out internationally reaching EMEA in the Autumn.
