LOGIC Upgrades Newsroom System At RTL And ntv
LOGIC media solutions, commissioned by RTL Deutschland, is renewing the Newsroom System at RTL and ntv, implementing Octopus 12 from Octopus Newsroom.
The migration from the old system to Octopus 12 commenced at the beginning of 2024. This upgrade ensures that the leading site in Cologne and all external and regional studios will be equipped with a centralised and unified newsroom system. The core hardware and software instances of the new system will be housed at the main site in Cologne.
The Octopus 12 newsroom system will be integrated into the existing infrastructure at RTL and ntv to streamline and enhance editorial workflows. It will interface with the automation system, MAM system, playout servers, graphics systems, and teleprompters.
Florian Kronenberg, Vice President Engineering (RTL Technology), stated: "The compatibility of Octopus 12 with our current systems is paramount as we integrate it into our existing technology. Simultaneously, Octopus offers us tremendous flexibility to modernise and optimise our workflows. Moreover, it provides significant openness for future upgrades of other systems, ensuring smooth future collaborations."
