dB Broadcast to introduce new family of monitoring and switching modules
dB Broadcast will feature a new family of custom-configurable ASI transport stream (TS) switching and monitoring modules (B080 series) at this year's IBC.
Some of the modules have an ASI TS 2x2 switch, while others have the same configuration but without the switch, designed for monitoring only.
The 2x2 switch can be controlled automatically via the module's windows interface, or via the front panel, external GPIs or one of the two serial ports. In all cases the switching is near seamless - a technique developed by dB, which preserves the output stream's TS packet structure during the switch.
The auto switching conditions and external alarms are user configurable via a windows or command line interface.
The user specifies up to 64PIDs, the maximum and minimum data rates and loss of transport stream, PAT and other critical failures.
