Fremantle And AlterEgo Sign First-Look Partnership

Fremantle and AlterEgo have signed a first-look partnership, in a deal that will see it work closely together developing a slate of original films and dramas.

AlterEgo was founded by Stefano Sollima, Gina Gardini and Ludovico Purgatori. Sollima's Adagio was their debut film, produced in partnership with Fremantle’s The Apartment, and had its world premiere screening in competition at the 80th Venice Film Festival. The film went on to receive five nominations at the 69th David di Donatello Awards and won the award for Best Score.

The company is currently in post-production on the TV drama Il Mostro, directed by Stefano Sollima, for Netflix and again produced with The Apartment.

AlterEgo joins a prestigious collective of creatives under the Fremantle banner with other first look deals in place with the likes of Kristen Stewart, Dylan Meyer and Maggie Mclean's Nevermind Pictures, Pablo and Juan de Dios Larraín’s Fabula, Luca Guadagnino, Paolo Sorrentino, Angelina Jolie, Rachel Weisz and Polly Stokes’ Astral Projection, Edward Berger and his label Nine Hours, Johan Renck and Michael Parets’ Sinestra, Patrick Daly’s Caledonia Productions as well as ongoing collaborations with acclaimed writers and directors, including Michael Winterbottom.

The AlterEgo team will work closely with our Group COO & CEO, Continental Europe, Andrea Scrosati, and CEO, Global Drama, Christian Vesper.
