MultiDyne To Return To InfoComm

News Image
MultiDyne Video & Fiber Optic Systems is returning to InfoComm as an exhibitor (C6228) as the lines continue to blur between broadcast and AV applications.

A renowned leader in fiber-optic transport for the broadcast, sports and cinematic production space, MultiDyne’s scope of innovation has expanded into new areas that equally benefit corporate, government and worship customers who demand the same reliable performance and flexible toolsets of broadcast systems.

Alongside with new products that address AV industry challenges from HDMI conversion to SDI/IP convergence, MultiDyne's value proposition for the AV systems integration community is strong. For one, MultiDyne’s ruggedised and interoperable products support a 'building block' philosophy to help customers meet any signal transport, processing and conversion requirement for their live productions. While some MultiDyne products are purpose-built to solve specific problems, many are configurable to serve changing needs in the field, ensuring customers aren’t locked into specific I/O counts. These same products are also very adaptable to larger ecosystems, ensuring interoperability with cameras and other third-party systems.

"We increasingly talk to AV integrators and end users who notice how 12G SDI has started to displace the HDMI signals in their systems," said Jesse Foster, VP of Products and Western Sales, MultiDyne. "We have added HDMI 2.0 transport to our VB and VF Series of fiber transport platforms, which means customers can move large numbers of optically isolated HDMI signals over fiber and maintain signal integrity. Both systems provide the ability to convert back to HDMI at the receive side or to convert to SDI or both in some cases."

"What's more interesting is how 12G transport, enabled in most of our products, shows signs of transforming connectivity and transport," he continued. "It's a broadcast-quality routing solution for the AV enterprise market. We can help these customers manage what will be an accelerated path toward the displacement of HDMI connectivity at the display in favour of a full bandwidth 12G transport from source to destination."

MultiDyne's InfoComm exhibit will emphasise its latest innovations along with flagship product lines that address IP convergence, audio/video conversion and field fibre transport among other signal management requirements, appealing to integrators and end users across most AV verticals.

MultiDyne will bring its flagship SilverBack Series of fibre camera adapters for broadcast production workflows, enabling content producers to convert digital cinema cameras into SMPTE studio cameras for live multi-camera production. SilverBack fibre camera adapters are lightweight 'cameraback' systems ideal for live concerts, sports, TV productions and worship services. The series offers several models to meet varied budgets, all vendor-agnostic and engineered to adapt the user’s camera of choice. The demo will include connectivity of the SilverBack-VB and other models to the SilverBack APE for remote power extension of 24VDC digital cinema cameras.

MultiDyne will introduce its latest NanoBrix Series of miniature signal processing solutions, including a new 12G to HDMI converter introduced at NAB last month. The new NB2-12G-HDMI provides a way for engineers to monitor 5.1 audio streams and downmix the surround signal to 2.0 stereo audio by accepting a 12G 4K SDI signal and converting it to HDMI for live confidence monitoring. The NB2-SDI-HDMI is also available with a single-channel fibre input and can regenerate the incoming signal for daisy-chained monitors.

MultiDyne will demonstrate how its award-winning MDoG Series of openGear solutions helps customers build stronger bridges between the SDI and IP worlds. Introduced at NAB in April, the series offers SMPTE ST 2110 network interface and low-latency JPEG-XS codec modules to efficiently manage uncompressed and compressed signals as they move between legacy systems and IP networks, with full redundancy to optimise performance.

MultiDyne will tip the scales in both directions for field fibre transport, bringing its latest throwdown solution for bulk fibre transport and a miniature lockable solution for fixed and temporary fibre-optic links. HoneyBadger is a ruggedised 5RU field fibre solution for content producers faced with an array of formats, signals and connectors that bridges the gap between fibre and IP. SilverBULLET miniature fibre-optic links are highly portable and economical solutions for high-bandwidth, single-link transport to and from any video source. They are ideal for 24/7 feeds, problem-solving link repairs, and specialty use cases where small footprint and a ruggedised form factor are required.

InfoComm takes place June 12-14 at the Las Vegas Convention Centre.
