MEDIAGENIX SECURE CONTRACT WITH ZDF
ONE OF the leading European scheduling and traffic specialists, MediaGeniX, have secured a contract this month to supply their WHATS’On channel management software to one of Europe’s largest broadcasters, ZDF.
ZDF, Germany’s national public broadcasters, manages all aspects of broadcast in-house.
MediaGeniX have been selected to install WHATS’On in order to fully integrate these areas in a single piece of software, creating a highly efficient flow of information within and across all departments and their partner channels 3.Sat and ZDF.Vision.
Known as a classic full programming station with a variety of high-interest premium partner channels and renowned for years of quality broadcasting and branded TV program labels, ZDF are equally firmly focused on the future.
Martin Berthoud, Head of Programme Planning of ZDF, said: "We are exploring many new opportunities including digital television and interactivity. Selection of software covering the actual and future demands within the crucial process of programme planning is a complex activity with many aspects to be considered."
WHAT’S On is an integrated software application built up from generic software components that are dedicated to specific fine-grained operational processes. Based on the specific business model, selected components are embedded into the target workflow and application infrastructure of the customer, covering all areas of strategic and operational channel management. A multi-user environment gives employees real-time access to all information relevant to their role from programme scheduling to cost analysis, content and media management to automation integration.
MediaGeniX is continually developing these components for a client base of broadcasters, network operators and content service providers. The product WHATS’On,
which is exclusively composed for each individual client, is inherently flexible and allows for their ever-changing requirements. (CD)
