Dolby celebrates worldwide success of cinema products

Dolby Laboratories is celebrating the success of its current range of cinema products at Cinema Expo 2004.
Over 15,000 units of the company’s flagship audio processor, the CP650, have been purchased, making it the most successful product of its kind and taking the number of Dolby Digital screens worldwide to over 45,000. At this year’s convention, held June 21-24 in Amsterdam, the company will also celebrate recent orders for its new subtitling and advertising system, Dolby ScreenTalk.
Jason Power, Market Development Manager for Dolby, commented: “Our cinema products are the choice of the industry because they are innovative, reliable, and adaptable. Cinemas choose them because they know they can rely on them to meet their needs, now and in the future”.
At the convention, Dolby will also reveal more information about its forthcoming digital cinema presentation system, which is currently in the final stages of development and testing. Power continued: “Making the right product purchases is important with current cinema technology, but it is even more crucial with Digital Cinema – digital systems represent a significant long-term investment and it’s imperative that cinemas pick solutions they can rely on. We believe that the only way to deliver the quality, flexibility, and reliability that the industry requires is to offer dedicated products that have been designed specifically for digital cinema”.
