BAL launches new multiviewer

BAL Broadcast is to unveil PRISM, its new 16 input, multi-standard output multiviewer, at IBC 2004.
PRISM has been designed to enhance all the features of the well-known BAL421 quad-split display unit.
The inputs can be selected in banks of 4 from 4 to 16 and the user has the option to specify which of the input banks are fitted with the composite/SDI auto-select function.
It has the capability to resize all the inputs and position the images anywhere on the screen. Ready-designed layouts included in the unit can be utilised or the user can create user-specific layouts with the size and position commands.
All controls can be operated remotely via the automation port.
PRISM has a large array of options such as Under Monitor Displays, Tally-indicators and extraction of defined embedded audio channels. It also provides warning signals for loss of input signals
It has a wide range of output formats to suit different displays from computer monitors to high-resolution projection systems and plasma/TFT screens. This will allow images to be viewed at the highest possible resolution. Standard television outputs are also available for monitoring purposes.
The unit is enclosed in a 1-u 19” rack, making it suitable for space-conscious applications such as OB vans.
