ATTWELL LEAVES 5 TO SET UP OWN COMPANY

MICHAEL ATTWELL, Channel 5's Senior Programme Controller, is leaving the station to set up his own production company.
The company will have a two year-output deal with Channel 5.
Attwell said: "I feel I've made a significant contribution to the success of Channel 5 in their first four years and I'm looking forward to continuing to work with the Channel."
Attwell joined Channel 5 as Controller of Features and Arts in 1996 from the BBC's Independents' Commissioning Executive. During his time at the Channel he has been responsible for a string of popular and critically acclaimed series including: the BAFTA nominated ‘House Doctor’; the ‘Moors Murders’ documentaries; ‘Hitler's Henchmen’ and ‘Ozzy Osbourne Uncut’ which won a Bronze Rose in Montreux.
Channel 5's Chief Executive, Dawn Airey, said: "Michael has made a unique contribution to the success of Channel 5 by commissioning many award winning hit programmes. He will be a hard act to follow and much missed." (CD)
